Program philosophy
Eating disorders result from a combination of individual character traits, disturbed family relationships, and social and cultural pressures. Eating disorders are often coping mechanisms for a variety of difficulties, so our treatment focuses not only on symptom reduction, but also on understanding the development and function of the disorder itself.
The New Orleans Center for Eating Disorders offers specialized, comprehensive treatment for individuals with eating disorders. Helping individuals gain insight into their behavior, while also providing concrete skills to prevent relapse, enables the program to facilitate lasting change.
Our mission is to provide the most powerful, yet least restrictive treatment possible. Our team's approach to treatment ensures the eating disorder is addressed with a multi-level, specialized approach to treat body, mind, and life.
